maybe in the garage or something. i'm pretty pessimistic about massage-based techniques for dealing with this shoulder stuff. i think i know what triggered it and it's very emotional. it used to happen only when i was meditating and at no other time

yeah, QC, for me they are nonseparate. there is something about breathing through and softening into the discomfort, and then resting quietly after. just a suggestion!

to be a bit more biochemical about it, anything emotion we experience has an effect on our tissues hormonally (and other ways too). our tissues, especially our connective tissue, becomes more rigid, less fluid. i wonder if gentle massage or rolling of your neck + shoulders...

could be a way in to play with bringing the idea of increased liquidity into those tissues, restoring your movement choices, because soft touch and massage do this, they physiologically help lubricate our tissues so does the quality of your attention
