now i’m imagining a wicked-style retelling of the events of the buddha’s life from his son’s pov called “unwanted”

men will literally sneak out of their palaces to wander the lands seeking true insight into suffering instead of being a father to their children

I was wondering earlier today what kind of spiritual practice might have been invented (for example) by mothers of small children.

nearly everything I’ve read on meditation, spirituality, personal transformation, etc, was written by childless men
I can’t believe how little of it is still relevant now that I’ve become a mother twitter.com/made_in_cosmos…

There is much to be gained by listening to wise grandmothers but we do not seek or listen to their voices.

One thing that I was taught as a small child, that was really useful, was to sing or hum to myself when I'm sad.
Another was to picture a very stormy lake, with a sailboat, with sales being blown up, then down, then sideways, and huge waves... and then calm down the lake.
