okay maybe iβll ask more directly for opinions on this: sometimes i write tweets stripped of nuance for rhetorical effect, like βX is Yβ when my true opinion is closer to βin many cases X may be mostly Yβ. i could see arguments that this is bad. thoughts?

I find it makes it really hard to trust you, which is a shame if I have a lot to learn from you.

I think "X is Y" simplifications annoy me when it feels like someone is exaggerating to be provocative, or to make a point seem more profound than it really is (e.g. deepities)
Oh and they also annoy me when they feel unfair (e.g. saying "men are ___")

Yup, same, and I get a provocative vibe from many of the things QC says. Which may be on purpose, intended to shake us out of our normal ways of thinking, but I react to it poorly.
