people say this kind of shit all the time and i’ve decided i hate it. i think it is deliberately conflating a metaphysical claim with a tactical claim. incidentally, reggie ray, like many spiritual teachers, had himself a classic abuse scandal: matthewremski.com/wordpress/regg

A dharma talk by Reggie Ray on the topic of: “there is nothing wrong with you. Nothing to fix. Nothing to run away from or improve. There is no problem. Can you accept that?” I heard it 2-3 years ago and it still wallops me every time I think of it.

Yeah one of Reggie’s many fuck ups was messily smashing pop trauma-psychology and pith instructions In spite of his bullshit he did occasionally give some decent technical instruction, shame the part of him who made for a good practitioner was drowned out by his fucked-up-ness

But anyway I think the most apt quote from the classical texts would be the warnings about fake masters, ‘who use the words of realised yogis, but are foolish, deluded...and arrogantly disturb the minds of others, leading them down the wrong paths’ 🙃
