not me. and tbh I’m skeptical of the claim, and I think it’s because people forget and discount their child-self and think of themselves and each other as “starting off” at about 20yo

tbh i just don’t even understand what the OP means. is the desire to do what your parents want so they don’t abandon you an extrinsic motivation?

I guess if it’s framed as like, everyone starts out terrified then I co-sign Something about OP’s framing is off to me but it would take like 20 tweets to properly investigate

2 things: 1. no mention of fear, neediness, etc. Elephant in the room 2- the implication that you only get to curiosity after working through all of the extrinsic stuff - false, it’s also there all along
