It really peeves me when a doctor, PT, or teacher of some kind is like "I'm not a [doctor/PT/teacher of X]."
E.g. guitar teacher says "I'm not a doctor" when I talk about pain/discomfort. What the fuck, dude? You think a doctor knows enough about guitar to help with this?

this is mostly a legal liability dodge afaict. he’s not making any object-level claims about his abilities, he just doesn’t want to get sued

It's still frustrating and obnoxious for me. I think the WAY it's said matters too
One thing to be like "Of course I'm not a doctor [knowing look], but I think XYZ." Another to sort of squirm away from the whole issue

The thing is part of what I'm looking for in a teacher is to FEEL supported in the project. This shit undermines that, a lot.
