Anyone have enough experience to compare/contrast Nedera (Bio-Emotive Framework, Tataryn) and Somatic Experiencing (Peter Levine)?
Do they cover the same basic function, are the complementary, do they clash…?

i haven't done SE but in the bio-emotive framework itself, NEDERA and SE cover different ground
doug distinguishes between the "emotional brain" (~deals with social) and the "physical brain" (~deals with body); NEDERA targets emotional, SE targets physical. so, complementary

NEDERA for dealing with relational trauma like being neglected by your parents and SE for dealing with physical trauma like getting into a car crash and a mix of both for dealing with a mix (i've had people do somatic stuff during NEDERA for stuff like being assaulted)

Hmm. So does this sound at all like a fair assessment:
“SE for ptsd, Nedera for c-ptsd”
?

hm sounds roughly right at least as a correlational thing. but like you could have C-PTSD with physical components if you were e.g. repeatedly physically abused growing up, i think? this is not based on direct experience, just reasoning it out

a related way to slice it is: NEDERA for suppressed emotions (e.g. suppressed grief), SE for suppressed movements (e.g. suppressed running away from a dangerous situation)
