I realise a poll isn't the best way to ask this question so please elaborate. I keep hearing people say they wish men dressed in suits, but men rarely do. Why not? Let's get to the bottom of this so that I don't have to read any NYT opinion pieces on the topic

I want a followup question for the women who say they like men in suits. Do you really, or do you just like the idea of it?

The results are about what I expected so far - most people don't want to stand out. This is strange because if everyone wore suits nobody would stand out, and a suit is a very conservative thing to wear, in theory at least.
Is everyone waiting for everyone else to make the move?

suits don’t strike me as “conservative” at all! in most of the social contexts i’ve been in i feel like it would be read as a weirdly aggressive status / class move
would be interested to refine the results here by age (i’m 30) and idk socioeconomic class growing up

No they're not conservative in practice, but they are in theory. They're very nearly a Halloween costume now

hmm wonder if this is could be in part an west coast vs. east coast thing then? suits seem a lot more east coast-y to me
I wonder how much of that is because of the climate, the flora, and fauna.
