Periodic reminder that this is a Rob Burbea stan account
meditation is not about 'being with what is'
Conversation
someone responded to this in my DM's asking for a good intro to Burbea's stuff, i responded with this, and want to post it here in case anyone else is curious. These two wonderful teachers have changed my practice and perception forever

Best meditation books 2020, in which I finally get around to reviewing Seeing That Frees, by Rob Burbea. It's my current choice for best meditation book.

meditation isn't about 'being in the present moment' either

Replying to @m_ashcroft and @joyurge
recently read about this in 'seeing that frees'- it can be helpful to investigate our attachment to the concept of the 'present moment' as a thing that can be clung to. its existence is inferred by the past and future, which are empty. there is nothing to lose!
blew me away ngl
