putting the phone in recovery mode and updating it from the iMac didn't work
i'm now going to try putting the phone in DFU mode and doing a factory reset

twitter doesn't let you have multiple accounts with the same email address, so all my alt accounts are tied to my phone number. so i might loose those
also all of my drafts were apparently stored locally on my phone, so i might loose those too

you can add periods to the email address arbitrarily, twitter thinks they’re different but periods are stripped
yea all my alts are like visakanv+alt_visa at gmail, visakanv+griftguru at gmail, visakanv+vvlifts at gmail, etc etc
