Great conversation I had with last week about microsolidarity & fluid teams, asking him more about Enspiral since it seems really similar to some of what I'm envisioning with my ideas of a distributed self-energizing meta-team.
Conversation
We talk a lot about how to build trust, manage power dynamics, shape membranes, etc.
I like their multi-membrane form, with a core of ~30 you can only join if supermajority approves, who each have individual autonomy to invite ppl to join larger ~200.

15a/ Membranes. Monists go on about how everything is one, which is true in a sense but also have you noticed that some things are inside and some things are outside? The role of skin, or the walls of a house, or a windshield on a car, is it keeps inside in & outside out.

One thing I was struck by was him saying that Enspiral neither has agency nor wants anything!
So it's neither necessary nor possible to get the whole group to agree on a direction.
Instead, you go do a thing and invite people into it.

I think this is a huge and necessarily about-face from the image of a corporation as almost being a person, with needs, desires, and agency.
At the same time, superorganism metaphors also appeal to me deeply. Maybe teams have agency & wants, but collectives don't? Hmm hmm hmm.

Stoked to hear that since put out his thinking on microsolidarity.cc he's had >30 communities reach out saying "you put a name to what we're doing!"
Name also enables mutual recognition, though we don't yet know how these entities will relate to each other.

I'm digging the upward spiral of how some of these conversations are moving into the public sphere. When I reached out to to chat, he said:
> Maybe it would be interesting to record and share? I like that QC is pushing this out in the open
