im not quite sure I can explain it clearly yet but it's the first show of any kind I've seen that really captures the texture of a society existing on top of another society

in cyberpunk everyone uses Online as a tool for doing things irl but in Durarara even as its not so technologically advanced the online society is in some ways more real than the meatspace one
its nearly invisible to the viewer yet feels more substantial than cyberpunk variants
