anyone know any loooooong in depth resource on how internet censorship works in china? both the tech/infrastructure needed to make it happen, and stuff on the policy side (what gets chosen to be censored)

I don't know one definitive resource, but somewhere you might look is testimony before the USCC - they get experts to come tell them about this kind of thing, and the written testimony that goes along with that is often good. e.g.: uscc.gov/sites/default/

The best article I’ve ever read on this is Chinese... maybe google translate will do a good job. (gcores.com/articles/121924)I haven’t personally read anything in English with half the accuracy (conditioned on my own ability to judge the accuracy of course)
