ok i was raised to tip 15% and then suddenly when I was in my early 20s everyone started acting like only an asshole would tip less than 20 and I have to know when the fuck it changed

maybe it’s a class thing 🤔 i was not told anything about tipping by my parents but absorbed 18% from my friends in college

i just eyeball it every time. like ehhh it’s somewhere between dividing by 5 and dividing by 6. pick a number that’s close enough based on feel

oh wait actually - so since lockdown i’ve switched to a heuristic of not tipping when i just pick up an order, idk if this makes sense
like theoretically now i’d only tip if i sat down and had a waiter / waitress
