I think that that claim in its literal form is too strong, but something like "several forms of trauma are rooted in early attachment wounds that will keep getting retriggered until you heal those original injuries" might be right.

I've felt disdain for this technique in the past but after some time I realised my "healing" was just back to back flashbacks because I was too prideful and egotistical to admit that sometimes you need distance and rest before tackling something.

Probably also related was the claim that at least if you have severe disorganized attachment then you're basically guaranteed to develop complex PTSD, because you can't help constantly running into stuff that triggers you and which you experience as traumatic.
