Weakness is temporary, something to fight through. Many people ( myself included ) find great joy in helping others through their struggles. Maybe you reveal yourself to be incompetent for a moment, but that does not mean that you are permanently destined to be so.

Okay, but now that you have felt that feeling, how do you think that will affect how you treat others who might be struggling in ways that you can relate to, particularly in domains where you do do feel confident and secure in your ability?

Because if the answer is "More likely to be helpful" then you have your answer. I have been lucky enough to be able to be a resource for others; one of the reasons I could see and act on the opportunity was because others were resources for me and showed me how.

The people who bring you down or turn themselves away when you stumble exist. When there's competition on status they may be near. What's your intention in this thread ? Is it a way to thanks? To give yourself a moment to rejoice ? :)

Being helpful is an important need that is harder to fulfill nowadays. At least for me, being "incompetent" is dropping your weapons in the game of "who is better". After that I can just not play this game and we will have a normal conversation
