Hrrrm. Bruh is it possible that you have like...
Like if people w/o much trauma, might have like a smooth distribution of sensation intensity (probably a power law dist?)
What if you had 2 opposing forces, that ended up making like... an emotional geyser?

hmm if i had to make up a story it would be like... iβve dissociated from strong sensations generally for so long that my system just hasnβt learned which ones are safe or unsafe to experience so it perceived them all as threats by default

Have you ever tried somatic therapy? It keeps coming to mind for me reading this thread. There's this development of feeling sensations in your body, but the sensations are subtle rather than overwhelming.

i have not! i read the beginning of one of peter levineβs books and really liked it but actually doing e.g. somatic experiencing has been scary

ya. the thing is, when you do it with a real live trained person, they are there to keep you from doing too much Technique at yourself
