like, "how do you know that you feel cold" well if i didn't know that i'm feeling cold i wouldn't be feeling cold, those are tightly connected

if you don't feel you want something then you don't want anything, simple as
desires are self-evident
go sit down and stare at the wall until there is something that you find undesirable about that condition, then investigate what could possibly be better than staring at a wall

When depressed I had no ability to just see what I wanted, and had to reverse engineer from how I felt after doing something.
When not depressed it's a mix of 1. does thinking of doing X feel happy, and 2. what happens when I stop restraining myself

i was depressed a couple times in my life and at the time i very clearly wanted to not be depressed, it was very unpleasant
