what sorts of activities feel like “rest” or “relaxation” to you? how can you tell? what do “rest” and “relaxation” feel like to you? physically? emotionally?

“rest” is the combination “I am not doing anything right now that is stressful” + “I am not expected to be doing anything right now not under my complete control”

latter bit is confusing—it’s important that I not feel like someone else is expecting me to do something, but I be doing something that I want to be doing

completely serious question, not rhetorical in the slightest: how do you know what you wanna do?

very similar sensation to Scott’s “fascination lottery”, where doing the thing is feels effortless, enjoyable, and actualizing

that’s fair—I’ve spent entire weeklong vacations unable to really relax because I never felt the complete absence of friction. It’s a pretty temperamental state, especially with modern (ie 9-5, social life) commitments
