i really shouldβve emphasized the second and third parts of the question: how can you tell that youβre resting / relaxing and what does it feel like to rest relax, concretely?
e.g. βi feel at peace. there is no tension in my body. my chest and stomach feel warm. i feel lightβ

I didnβt understand this until I got a concussion, and then I couldnβt avoid understanding it even if I had wanted to

rules of thumb:
no activity involving a screen or text is in the maximally restful tier
mind-wandering while lying around is in the maximally restful tier
any activity involving BOTH a screen AND text is not in the top half of most restful things

completely serious question, not rhetorical in the slightest: how do you know what you wanna do?
