constraints in place for my life planning:
- no dayjob ever if i can possibly get away with it
- enough free time to spend a lot of time with kids
- enough financial freedom + free time so kids don’t have to go to public school
already quite strong constraints 😬

that’s identical to being a stay-at-home parent, right?

does “stay-at-home parent” include the possibility of having side hustles that make money but take, say, less than 10 hours a week to maintain? i want the thing to be feasible for both parents to do

Ah I see, this is when to gesture at “home production” and start deconstructing “job” and “work”

"Stay at home parent" exists within an implied binary between "travel daily to your master to work for wages" and "home production that wouldn't count towards GDP."

I think you’re saying “neither parent travels to master to work a fixed hourly amount for salary or wages”
achievable, yeah - and/but think for it to be feasible for both parents to do, more net exported production needs to be happening, because you import so much
