I think after almost a full year, the pandemic is slowly becoming a near-invisible part of the background of big news events like the Capitol or the GameStop stuff but I think it’s important to remember that there’s a big soup of fear & disillusionment boiling over beneath it all

I’m honestly not that smart or anything and I can be too cynical sometimes probably but I know that I’m not alone in being frustrated and distrustful and it’s not just about the pandemic, it’s about the climate crisis and the culture war, and the absolute joke politics has become

& I know I’m pissed off from behind all sorts of circumstances that insulate me from the worst of the suffering that results from all of these issues & I know there are also people even more insulated than me & I am smart enough to understand these disparities breed instability

the culture of modernity has created this thin illusion of atomization but I just want to take this moment to scream that WE ARE NOT THAT FUCKING SEPARATE and if we can’t GROW UP and implement changes that help us TAKE CARE OF EACH OTHER we are ALL going to FUCKING PAY FOR IT
