are you asking if i understand whether what you said is a joke or are you asking whether what i am saying is a joke lol
if the latter i'm being completely serious, having true beliefs and winning should be synergistic, *if* you aren't fixated on a specific notion of "winning"

ok they definitely shouldn't be in conflict in theory
but like, some rats went deep into feelings land and some did not. and for some reason I feel like there would be a correlation between which group you are in and how you rank RSW v HTB

so i am in fact on record prioritizing RSW over HTB in a LW post ages ago so in that sense you are empirically correct lol
but i never thought of what i was doing as funging against having true beliefs. if anything it felt *truer* than what the non-feelings rats were doing
like if anything i think they conflict "in theory but not in practice" in the sense that rat theory has a narrow conception both of what it means to win and what it means to have true beliefs and in practice you can do realer versions of both of those things

yeah, I think that prioritizing HTB goes along with a spectrum-y, spock-like attachment to complex, externally-focused models that aren't more true and don't win more
RSW quickly orients you inward (bc you are the one in the way of youwinning, it turns out)
