Question for armchair psychologists: why might someone feel averse to *affecting* or intervening in the world (whether on accident, or intentionally)?

for me there was / is a lot of not wanting anyone to be able to blame me if it goes wrong. it’s gotten a bit better
I blame you for all the good you do not do, if that helps.

this is tied to specific memories of e.g. being yelled at for breaking things as a kid
