i would've answered differently a month ago but rn i want to answer "physics"! a lot of calculus and linear algebra was invented to do physics and that's a lot of where you'll see their really concrete payoffs

a month ago i might've said "it depends on what you're into" 😛 i could've suggested number theory, combinatorics, topology, or probability depending on interest
