i have a longstanding goal of trying to understand statistical mechanics which i've made a little progress on recently. it feels good to get an actual sense of how macroscopic stuff emerges out of microscopic physics

Oooh nice! Since I like to come at things from an information-theoretic perspective, this is something I find pretty profound too. Stat mech makes statistics interesting
