ooh, that would be phenomenal (I haven't read the reference you posted previously, but it's on the queue after I finish some stuff)
honestly, I feel like I "understood" entropy less after taking physics and more after taking classes on model selection/tail inequalities

(but maybe this is just what I feel about math vs. physics classes and their different approaches to presenting material? idk, this was always a source of slight frustration, which is why one of your threads resonated with me quite a bit)

yeah i think it's all about large deviation inequalities and physics people rarely make that explicit lol

agreed, which has caused much confusion to me honestly (also the other points of the different ensembles and such, which, to this day, I still struggle with coming up with a reasonable interpretation for, other than "we can compute stuff given the required quantities")
