basically seems like it's pointing at a real thing. and i have a thread somewhere about a version of this idea involving coercive culture as memeplexes that ensure their own stability by punishing innovation and creativity
yeah it's kind of a mess (I mean the thread but the reality as well) but if you click on this tweet then scroll up you'll find most of the juicy stuff there and in the branches off
