There's no clean line that can be drawn to separate the complicit from the innocent, the privileged from the oppressed.

I don't think we need much punishment, but we DO need accounting. Until very recently my mind was too broken around these things for me to properly come clean, but some people do have to be the vanguard here. I'm happy to try and help promising people in similar situations.

Part of coming clean to MYSELF was noticing that there was ACTIVE optimization in my brain for the kind of sadomasochistic positioning described abstractly in the post Milan linked, not just passive confusion.
