it's maybe arrogant to believe that my tweets will meaningfully affect reaxers but they obviously do, people have told me so in DMs repeatedly, and conversely other people's tweets meaningfully affect me
we are all having real effects on each other with tweets all the time

part of why i stayed off twitter in december for so long is because i couldn't think of anything to tweet that passed this bar. i just felt bad and i couldn't imagine tweeting anything other than "still feel bad" and this just didn't seem... helpful?

I have a lot of rules about what I do and don't say / tweet, and I think most of them are probably good, but I'll occasionally stretch them and/or try to find ways to get around them without violating their spirit in a principle like "intimacy is good" or something.

Part of my history is that some of the Christian circles I've run in were very much "do everything for love / for someone's benefit" which I've come to think is good as like a vague rule of thumb but can put one into some weird forms of reserve / asceticism

Not that I want to spread toxic thoughts everywhere, or stir up useless controversy, just because it was in my mind and "that's what intimacy is".

But I think there are e.g. expressions of rage (normally against my rules, because useless and distracting) that are humane and non-controlling, even if no one else takes like a lesson away from them.

(I'm thinking of rage venting on the timeline, not like raging AT someone in a convo.)

"Still don't feel good" sounds like a very normal and even a definitely positive thing to post. When I see that my reaction is to want to comfort the person, and I'm nearly always in a place where I'm glad they shared.
