play around and see what sticks as fun then give up on it and become a corporate drone. jkjk but yeah looking around: travel, experimenting, ppl, etc. is a good thing to do if you're not sure

often I only realize I've made a decision in retrospect, tho; the above is for the times where I recognize a decision point in advance (very rare)

I loved the book "Designing Your Life" for this. Read it four years ago and still think of it about once a week. Their main thing: realizing that you can break down "stuff you want" into action steps, and also *prototyping* to confirm if u actually want smth vs. just think u do

Blows my mind how we talk ourselves out of our internal knowings all the time. Until ~4 years ago, I thought so much of my deepest wants - love, beauty, spaciousness - were things I had to ignore in order to get on with my life. Now I'm like...u mean I can make them my life??!

Wait until I *have* to decide then do it in a blind panic lol Best advice I can give is figure out your priorities. Are you more about finding interesting things, helping others, financial success? Figure out how important those things are -- which can be negotiated out?
