i hate that i’ve never lived somewhere i knew i was going to live until i died

i hate that the physical locations where my childhood memories take place are all thousands of miles away
it’s like a part of my mind, which is located in those places, is inaccessible

this also applies to the *digital* locations where my childhood memories take place
websites that mostly don’t exist anymore, games that i would mostly have to emulate

it was wild returning here after getting 'unblocked'
somehow you can live in a place for 15 yrs and never really take it in

i know for a fact that i blocked out my surroundings constantly as a kid, i was notoriously bad at remembering where things were or what places looked like
friend used to give me rides in her car periodically and i never remembered what it looked like

I can't enter my family home because someone else owns it. It wouldn't look very recognisable of I could

yeah that’s even worse, that childhood places can just be destroyed!

Take ❤️, those places are lost in time too, not just space. So technically you are disconnected from all of them.

Can relate
The feeling of "this is the last time I'll ever be inside this house" is one that always weirds me out, even after going through it so many times
