there's this funny anthropic argument that we have to live in at least 3 spatial dimensions because 3 is the minimum number of dimensions in which every finite graph embeds
so 3 is the smallest dimension in which we can arbitrarily hook up e.g. organs, neurons, etc.

2d shapes (surfaces) in 4d can still tangle and knot up yeah. knotted surfaces are wack. hard to visualize

So is the 4th dimension time so you say that at time x the cables are already untangled or is the no tangoes in 4d some fancy topological thing?

they have more space to pass "through" each other. you can sort of visualize it by taking color to be a fourth dimension. you can move stuff in that dimension by changing its color and that lets you pass parts of cables "through" each other
