it’s crazy how much stuff in Unlocking the Emotional Brain is about specific times of the year as triggers, down to anniversaries of horrible incidents, down to the day
(it was crazy to me anyway, really hadn’t seen anyone emphasize that before)

holidays, birthdays, school breaks
the folk explanation that gets thrown around is that this is when relatives and parents were more likely to be around and drinking/fighting/etc
seems plausible
