1/?? Phenomenology of Fiction Addiction
In this case I mean addiction pretty literally. I have passed up on sex, money, damaged friendships and probably done even worse things just to keep reading/watching/consuming- actually a more accurate phrasing would be "to keep going back"

"Video game addiction isn't real" and "porn addiction isn't real" takes miss the point. There's a real phenomenon, and it has little to do with video games or porn in particular.
We need a new concept and a new word for it: how about "escape addiction"?
