Kinda weird that China doesn’t do more to promote its classics worldwide. If I were Chinese I would be (for eg) posting about Sun Tzu, Confucius, Romance of the 3 Kingdoms, Journey To The West etc all day every day

They’ve got a weird relationship to their classics because so many of them are not politically correct
This was one of their weirdest parts of being an American Chinese lit major. You ended up being VASTLY more well read than the general population

yeah i can’t claim to know much about it but i hear that a big part of the cultural revolution was explicitly denouncing classical chinese culture as bad and evil
Basically everything that lead to the emergence of a landlord class from the perspectives of the communists is counter revolutionary
It’s relaxed in current years but the cultural damage was severe
