Oh damn me too! What are the chances 😂 Neither of my parents are from there but both families are based around that region.

It's funny how much I can just forget this when immersed in a white culture I've been watching C-drama clips on YouTube as a treat and it took me a bit of time to make that mental frame transition from "it's so weird that everyone's Chinese" to "well duh everyone is Chinese!"

Yeah I was practically raised on 还珠格格 like most Chinese 90s kids 😂 so there's a nostalgia factor there with those Palace dramas! I hadn't thought to watch them until recently and was like "this is the most Asian women I have seen in one place since I was last in China"
