i think its part of why i was not able to memorize the days of the week in either language i speak until i was 17 years old tbh; it was very confusing and still is residually so

it's a source of power. increase the number of plausible associations, increase magical potential. when the limiting factor is your ability to imagine connections, slapping things together hodgepodge is an advantage

It happened because Roman tradition named the days of the week after the gods. When German cohort soliders moved back home after their time in the Legions fighting - well, themselves, really, they Germanified the names of the days as it became important to do so, for like Mass.
