i feel like with a straight straw you can KIND of twist the meaning of hole such that it only has one but this falls apart with a bendy straw

how many times does it have to bend for the number of holes to change

imo it has to bend enough that you cannot see through it, or for a harder standard to meet, that you could not usefully/easily thread it onto something like a bead

like a donut has one hole because it's kind of metaphysically a hole in and of itself. it's almost like a portal. i think a straw or other tube could THEORETICALLY be grandfathered into that if it was completely straight
