awhile back my housemates rescued a dog and that's how i learned that it's possible to be annoyed with a dog which is a fact i wish i didn't know
doesn't help that i'm too allergic to play with her 😩

unfortunately dogs interpret any sort of interaction with them as an invitation for more play, including interactions meant to get them to leave you alone (This is also a metaphor)
