When I find out someone I know doesn't know how to draw, ride a bike, or swim, it's as shocking as if they couldn't read. Like a chunk missing from their brain-body system. Can you tie your own shoes? What have you been up to since you were 5??

i've tried to learn to swim like 4 different times and it's never stuck. i've also almost drowned twice. i live in fear and awe of the sea

Learned as a kid using those. We went like 1-2 weeks/year to the seaside. I only swam wearing them one year and took them off the next.

nothing can quite replace a trip to the ocean tho when you first dive down; kick, kick, kick, you're 10 ft down, 15, 20 you touch the sandy ocean floor and turn you look around; watch the sun rays filter through the water as you slowly float up you can feel it you're home
