in a broad sense it’s perverse incentives, but it’s kind of an special/specific case where the incentives only work on part of the population... 🤔

I’d describe it as a filter of some kind. Filters out those who respond to to the disincentive, leaving behind those who don’t. It’s a kind of evaporative cooling effect too in that sense 🤔

I don't think their primary use is in deterring certain men, more in giving women heuristics. Not all softboys are bad, but the bad ones are bad in similar ways.
