Math nerds of Twitter, how can I get more interested / engaged in learning calculus? Reading about the broader ideas behind it has helped, but even if I just drill problem sets, it doesn't feel like I understand what in the world is happening as I complete them.

Still early in my intro Calc class, so it's all finding limits, justifying limits, finding derivatives. I suppose completing them feels like running down lists of rules/laws, hoping I picked the applicable ones and simplified thoroughly enough

It's like I look at a list of numbers and scramble to find a sort of recognizable handhold, but math is meant to be a kind of smooth abstraction that won't necessarily have "concrete examples" all the time
