Try stretching the nerves (carefully!). Put one hand behind your back with your elbow at a right angle (so your forearm is parallel to the floor). Then slowly tilt your head towards the opposite shoulder.

Also let me know how it goes! Whenever I did back sets at the gym, one side would move differently to the other. Physio explained that with phones / laptops, the ulnar nerve that runs from your hand to your neck tightens.
