ok what’s the deal with anime?
when did it get so big outside asia?feel like most ppl I follow here watch it. why am I noticing this until now? is it an age thing? (late millenial here) or is it a ‘was never exposed to it until twitter’ thing?

in anime everyone is outrageously sincere in a way that just doesn’t happen in american media, esp. live-action media; they wear their hearts on their sleeves and unironically stand up for what they believe in and people love that

that one in particular i think has a lot to do with a related aspect which is that anime faces are very exaggeratedly emotionally expressive; easier to read for people who may tend to have difficulty with that
That as well. But most of not all people on the spectrum really can't stand fakeness, fake people.
