Bipolar is pretty different from BPD -- I'm bipolar, it peaked in my early-mid 20s and went down after. mostly it's just massive energy and recklessness swings i never really had:
a bad view of myself, trouble with emotional control, unstable relationships, passive worry, etc.

yeah not saying the symptoms are necessarily similar, think there's sort of similar underlying abuse / neglect patterns and then lots of outwardly different patterns of compensations for those. i'm more confident about this for borderline than bipolar tho

I agree with BPD and cPTSD being related, but as much as I looked into having cPTSD (read from surviving to thriving, spot read emotionally absent mother, am in close contact with several cPTSD folks), I just don't really meet it

by 30 the swings lost enough intensity where I stopped doing dumb shit, and the rest is just spending a few weeks sleepy-tired-cozy, and few weeks dancy-flirty-flowy
main failure case is running out of brain juice from lack of sleep/food, which fucks up rational thinking a lot
