hmm i’m not super clear on what you’re pointing at but if i had to guess i’m on the diffuse side too. like e.g. not having a sharp and clear sense of gender

Yeahhhh clear is a good synonym.
I think concentrated is in the general area of grounded + distinct; diffused is vague & amorphous

when i think about this i think about the bit from Running on Empty about how your parents are supposed to reflect back to you who you are, your strengths and weaknesses, etc. and when that doesn’t happen you grow up not knowing 🙃
