At some point a few months ago my dumb brain came up with the phrase "Dharma Daddy" to refer to a spiritual teacher and now I can't unthink it and I hate that I have done this to myself.
Conversation
my dumb brain says....
"Beings are numberless — I vow to number them."

Ooh! We chant a different translation of the 4 vows which for some reason I can't find anywhere online right now, but every day I have to remind myself that it's "gates of truth without measure - vow to know them", NOT "gates of truth without measure - vow to break them" 😳

maybe they’re like coconuts and the fleshy truth is inside them
Replying to
San Francisco Zen Center version (at least when I was practicing there):
Beings are numberless, I vow to save them.
Delusions are inexhaustible, I vow to end them.
Dharma gates are boundless, I vow to enter them.
Buddha's Way is unsurpassable, I vow to become it.

Ours is:
Myriad lives without number - vow to free them.
Greed and hate without end - vow to break them.
Gates of truth without measure - vow to know them.
Awakened way without compare - vow to fulfill it.
