yes thatās probably a big component. iām always really interested to see people who are v comfortable with affectionābut also self aware abt itāin public and semi-public (e.g. dinner w friends) situations

thereās also a like... idk if this one is universal but i feel like iām not allowed to enjoy it? like thereās a compersion direction i actually think i could head towards when i see two people being affectionate but it feels pervy

feels like thereās a weird boundary issue at play even past the jealousy and status anxiety. is PDA actually public, in the sense that itās for everyone to enjoy? is it actually private but happening in public anyway, and if so, why?
hmm thereās also a scarcity thing tied up with the jealousy for me. if i felt like affection was abundant and i could easily have some if i wanted i would feel great about seeing other peopleās affection but affection does not almost ever feel abundant to me
