there are a lot of non-monetary reasons to do "fucked up" things, they're just taken at a more safe speed tho
social power, attention, admiration, etc. is never going anywhere

when you say "unbridled capitalism" are you talking about what's going on in [current year]? or a more theoretical model?

maybe more than the economic system, something like "society cultures where everything is permitted unless explicitly banned vs societies where everything is banned unless explicitly permitted"
although I guess either could have high openness for deciding on those banned things

Legalize/normalize these shadow desires & let the market price out the mafia (non-exploitative stuff anyway)

Follow-up:
Some (most?) of those shadow desires ought to be suppressed, for the sake of both individual and collective well-being / human flourishing.
Arguments for the liberation of shadow desires are usually articulated by those who stand to profit from them

And then making money off the shadow tends to disincentivize its integration.
Any half-baked ideas for an economic system to reintegrate what we’ve found out about our baser natures here?
